My Journey to Becoming an AWS Community Builder (Containers Category)

Introduction
Woke up to an exciting email from AWS - I’ve been selected as an AWS Community Builder in the Containers category.
This moment feels incredibly special for me, especially because my application was rejected last year. Getting selected this year, even as a college student, makes the achievement even more meaningful.
In this blog, I want to share:
What the AWS Community Builders program is
My journey and experience applying
Tips for anyone who wants to apply in the future
What is the AWS Community Builders Program?
The AWS Community Builders program is an initiative by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that recognizes individuals who actively share knowledge about AWS with the community.
Community Builders contribute by creating technical content such as:
Blog posts
Tutorials
Videos
Talks
Workshops
The program includes multiple categories such as:
Containers
Serverless
DevTools
Machine Learning
Security
Data
I was selected in the Containers category, which focuses on cloud-native technologies and container-based architectures.
My Journey
My journey into cloud and DevOps started during my college years when I began exploring technologies like:
Linux
Docker
Kubernetes
CI/CD
Cloud platforms
Currently, I’m also working as a DevOps Engineer Intern, where I get to work with tools like Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
Last year, I applied to the AWS Community Builders program but my application was rejected. Instead of getting discouraged, I focused on improving my skills and continuing to share my learning with the community.
This year, I applied again - and waking up to the acceptance email was an unforgettable moment.
Why This Program Matters
Being part of the AWS Community Builders program provides several opportunities, including:
Connecting with AWS product teams
Early access to upcoming AWS features
Joining a global network of cloud professionals
Learning and collaborating with other builders
It also encourages members to continue sharing knowledge and helping others learn cloud technologies.
Tips for Future Applicants
If you are interested in becoming an AWS Community Builder, here are a few tips:
1. Share Your Knowledge
Create technical content such as blog posts, tutorials, or videos related to AWS.
2. Build Real Projects
Hands-on projects using AWS services help demonstrate practical experience.
3. Stay Consistent

A big thank you to Amazon Web Services, Paxton L. Hall, and Ridhima Kapoor for this opportunity.
I’m excited for the journey ahead.
